New York’s Rising Leaders Recognized by American friends of Sheba Medical Center
May 14th 2009
New York, New York
Helene Feldman, Chairman of American Friends of Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer, announces the launch of New York’s Rising Leaders at a gala event at the mansion of fashion icon Estee Lauder. On May 14th American Friends is recognizing a select number of very special, philanthropically aware young men and women. “These young professionals are attracted to Sheba’s mission as a Hospital without Boundariestm. The hospital is committed to the treatment of all patients with the best medical resources in the world,” Mrs. Feldman added.
The Lauder House Event continues the tradition of recognizing Rising Leaders inaugurated in 2008 at the UN. “At the UN, hundreds of NY’s business leaders joined with Sharon Stone, Bianca Jagger and Ambassador Dan Gillerman to recognize and appoint Lapo Elkann, scion of Italy’s and FIAT’s Agnelli family as Global Special Ambassador,” Mrs. Feldman noted.
Mira Bar-Mashiah, President of American Friends of Sheba added, “What better place than the home of a great American entrepreneur and philanthropist, Estee Lauder, to recognize these very special Rising Leaders.”
American Friends of Sheba Medical Center has been active in New York for more than forty years. Its mission is to raise awareness and contributions on behalf of Israel’s most important and largest medical facility, Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer. Sheba is a vital part of Israel’s medical research miracle and home of the IDF Rehabilitation Center where every wounded IDF soldier receives the most advanced care.
The young men and women invited to the Lauder House will join American Friends commitment toward supporting medical leadership in Israel and Tel Hashomer. This group is international in scope reflecting the globalization of business today. It is characterized by a spirit of philanthropy on a global basis that fits the worldwide mission of Sheba Medical Center – which provides Israeli led missions of care throughout the world.
Future Rising Leader events will be scheduled in the Hamptons during Summer 2009 and in New York during Fall 2009. Go to www.shebamedical.org for more information.
