This year's Gala at New York's Plaza Hotel honored Israeli business leader, Itzhak Tshuva, iconic folksinger/writer and activist, Peter Yarrow and global philanthropist, Bill Austin. Co-Chair Mitra Damaghi, joined with American Friends Chairman Helene Feldman and President Mira Bar-Mashiah to create an emotion filled evening for 600 guests who learned of Sheba's deep commitment of caring. Two former IDF soldiers victims of terror and battle spoke of how they were returned to society through Sheba's rehabilitation programs. Among the many guests were Academy Award winner Marlee Matlin and world renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, who has already designed two breakthrough buildings at Sheba. Professor Zeev Rotstein announced the drive to raise funding to build the world's first facility dedicated exclusively to the research and care of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder victims - the Hopeful Dawn Institute, designed by Mr. Libeskind.
